This is a U.S.-based remote position. San Francisco Bay Area employees are highly encouraged to come into the office one day a week.

About the Team

The AllTrails marketing team is building a global, beloved outdoors brand. We launch and scale creative, impactful initiatives to drive awareness of the AllTrails brand and bring more people onto the AllTrails platform. 

We’re looking for a talented, part-time social media designer to bring and execute new ideas across our social channels. We’re looking for someone whose personal love of the outdoors runs as deep as their understanding of what makes a great meme. This person will help define the visual direction of our social presence and develop engagement-worthy content to support it. This role will report to the Head of Social and work closely with our Creative Director. You’ll collaborate early and often with our social media manager and brand design team, and be a key player in transforming integrated brand moments into compelling content.

This is a fully remote, contract position with an expectation for 15 hours per week for 5 months. 

What You'll Be Doing

    • Developing and executing creative content for digital and social channels, including still and video for emerging trends and AllTrails campaigns and  partnerships.
    • Refining AllTrails’ social look, feel, and voice to grow our devoted social community. 
    • Creating quick-turnaround social assets (stories, carousels, thumbnails, onscreen video graphics, etc.) to accompany UGC, integrated marketing, and partnership content shared to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, and more. 
    • Proposing and supporting the team in experimenting with new design formats, templates, and workflows for peak performance.
    • Ensuring consistent  brand POV for art direction, design and content.
    • Contributing creative ideas that align with our brand, platform trends, and audience interests.
    • Maintaining  and organizing files and applications, ensuring that all assets are current and easily accessible.

Requirements:

    • 2+ years of professional design experience. Both agency and in-house experience are great.
    • Proven experience as a graphic designer with a strong portfolio showcasing social-first content (outdoor and video experience is a plus).Proficient in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).Knowledge of social channel best practices, including copyright and image risk issues.
    • Knowledge of the outdoor industry and brands.
    • Familiarity with video, motion graphics, and animation.
    • Strong communication skills for coordinating across multiple teams and managing feedback.
    • Adaptable and able to roll with changes as they come.
    • Proactive and able to work independently.
    • Empathy, open-mindedness, and humility.
    • Passion for the outdoors.
$35 - $40 an hour
A successful candidate’s starting rate will be determined based on various factors such as skills, experience, training and credentials, as well as other business purposes or needs.  It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range of their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the factors and circumstances of each case.
